Access & Operating Hours
Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport is one of the Singapore Airlines’s 13 lounges. The recently re-opened lounge (Aug 2023) is located in the Main Departure Hall. While it is not opened 24/7, the lounge is compact yet efficient.
SilverKris Lounge (HKG) is accessible for:
- Business Class passengers (Singapore Airlines & eligible Star Alliance carriers)
- KrisFlyer PPS Club members
- First Class passengers (Singapore Airlines & Star Alliance)
Overview of SilverKris Lounge (HKG)

Seating & General Amenties
This lounge is also the only Star Alliance’s Airline lounge that is located inside Hong Kong International Airport (with United Club being temporarily closed). After entering from the entrance, there is a long walkway where you will pass-by the bathroom and showers before reaching a manned bar.

The lounge’s lack of windows might disappoint those hoping for tarmac views, but I found the lighting surprisingly adequate—bright enough to work without feeling sterile.
While you won’t get plane-spotting opportunities or natural light, the enclosed design has a silver lining: the atmosphere actually somewhat disconnects you from the airport chaos and provides some peace, if that’s what you’d like.

Restroom & Bathroom Amenities
There is a total of 3 shower suite in Hong Kong’s SilverKris Lounge and as usual with the unbranded shower amenities. You’ll need to register at reception with your boarding pass before using one.
Each has a rain shower and attached toilet, which is convenient, but the limited number means you might face a wait during peak hours. However, each sessions are limited to 15 minutes, so it is actually more like a freshen up, than an actual relaxation.

Food & Beverages Selections
Unlike the Singapore’s lounge which features its TWG tea selection, in Hong Kong, you’re stuck with Twinings. For coffee drinkers, there’s a self-serve machine that serves decent espresso-based drinks. It won’t rival a specialty café, but it’s a welcome option for a quick caffeine fix before your flight.

The lounge offers a modest but well-curated wine list featuring approachable international labels:
| Wine | Year | Country of Origin | Profile | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Veneto Bottega Pinot Grigio | 2022 | IT 🇮🇹 | Light, crisp with hints of pear & citrus | White Wine |
| Luis Felipe Edwards Sauvignon Blanc | 2022 | CL 🇨🇱 | Zesty, tropical fruit-driven (pineapple, grapefruit) | White Wine |
| J. Moreau & Fils Chardonnay | 2022 | FR 🇫🇷 | Balanced oak, apple, and subtle butter | White Wine |
| Peter Lehman Portrait Shiraz | 2021 | AU 🇦🇺 | Bold dark fruit, pepper, smoky oak | Red Wine |
| Luis Felipe Edwards Classic Merlot | 2022 | CL 🇨🇱 | Soft plum, blackberry, velvety tannins | Red Wine |
| Barton & Guestier Reserve Cabernet | 2021 | FR 🇫🇷 | Blackcurrant, cedar, firm structure | Red Wine |

One of the most surprising shortcomings of the SilverKris Lounge Hong Kong is its mediocre food selection which is somewhat a disappointment for the typical standards of Singapore Airlines. Expect some basic fried rice, a simple noodle dish, and lackluster pastries in this lounge instead.
What makes me rather surprised is the lack of signature dishes and live cooking station considering the fact that Hong Kong is actually a culinary capital.
If you’re counting on a quality pre-flight meal, you’re better off eating in the terminal or waiting for the excellent inflight service.

Summary
The SilverKris Lounge Hong Kong offers a functional yet practical pre-flight experience for Singapore Airlines passengers. While it has limited selection to its hot and cold food, a modest selection of Twinings teas, the SilverKris Lounge Hong Kong serves well as a quiet retreat for travelers needing to freshen up or work briefly before their flight.
Despite being the only Star Alliance Airline lounge in Hong Kong International Airport, this lounge was not as crowded as the flagship Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge in SIN T3, probably due to the time of visit (8AM).
